There is a difference between a babysitter sits and when the nanny babysits

The function of a babysitter is to supervise children for a couple of hours. Their focus is on following directions while the parents go out.

A babysitter might or might not be sympathetic to children, and she might or might not become a nanny. An inexperienced babysitter will supervise the children for a couple of hours following the parents' written or verbal instructions. She will expect the parents to order food for her and the kids, usually pizza.  After reading a book or two, she will tuck the kids in bed.  Then she will relax with her phone or watch TV while waiting for parents to come back. The hourly rate in America ranges from $15.00 to $25.00.

A babysitter with moderate experience will supervise children for a couple of hours following the parents’ verbal or written instructions for snacks and bedtime. She will play with the children their favorite toys, keeping them entertained and having fun before bed. She might order pizza or give the children a light dinner or snacks. After reading a book or two, she might or might not brush teeth before tucking the kids in bed.  Then, she will monitor the children while scrolling on her phone or watching TV. The hourly rate for a moderately experienced babysitter ranges between $15.00 -$25.00.

An experienced babysitter is eager to care for children. Her function is to supervise the children following their parents' instructions for bed, snacks, and possibly a bath. The babysitter might arrive to work with a fun project planned for the kids. She might or might not bring the materials to use for the activity, possibly a wooden tower, a tree with apples, paint shirts, an ornament, etc. She reads a book or two and tucks the kids in bed after brushing their teeth. Then she will probably relax with a book or her phone, continually monitoring the children. The hourly fair to hire an experienced babysitter is between $15-$25.00.

Parents with nannies usually give priority to their nanny, requesting in advance, or, at the last moment, to stay after work or to babysit on a weekend day. Nannies have the choice to babysit after work or not.

Full-time employed nannies know how to keep the children safe, entertained, and having fun. Time permitted, they might go out for a walk or to the park. They know the meals children eat and the children's bath and bed schedule. They usually don't need instructions from parents, which is a great advantage. After reading books, brushing teeth, and tucking the children in bed, she will carry the baby monitor with her at all times. She might want to leave the kitchen clean and the toys put away. She might strengthen the living room and play areas. She might still have some time to sit with a book or to use her phone until the parents arrive. The hourly rate for a nanny to babysit usually matches her normal hourly pay, ranging between $15.00-$150.00.

A nanny career might have started by performing short babysitting jobs. An experienced nanny might not be a parent, but she loves and genuinely cares for kids. Nannies make themselves available to babysit. Their ability to babysit after a full-time nanny job is the secret pocket they rely on to supplement their income when the rate is low.

The right moment to hire help

Ideally, the moment you choose life to expand your family is the moment to find help.

There is a saying that it takes a village to raise a child, and there exist communities in other cultures where people take this literally. Unfortunately, in our culture, we can't expect our parents, sisters, brothers, or even cousins to come live with us while our babies grow. Mom and Dad usually go through all the phases of pregnancy and postpartum alone. There is nothing to be afraid of, and there is much to learn. However, in our US culture, the industry is growing at its fastest pace each day. Child care professionals have adopted the services of teachers and nurses, and more and more, other agencies are joining our communities to provide complete support to parents. Doulas, postpartum Doulas, lactation consultants, and early baby educators come together to offer new parents all the support they need, beginning in the early stages of pregnancy.

Education and experience are sometimes not necessary when new professionals can prove their education in each field. However, many times, education and experience are obtained by the verified number of years a provider has worked with parents and children.

There are many ways to find help.

Your OB/GYN can recommend reliable child care help, and here is a list you can refer to find help for your family.
